I put together this comparison gallery to illustrate just how close to the Dr. Seuss cartoon Grinches Jim Carrey is. Notice that I have purposely avoided using any pictures from the 1966 Chuck Jones animated "How The Grinch Stole Christmas". That's because I felt doing that was much too easy. I found numerous shots where Jim Carrey looked just like the "Boris Karloff" Grinch. This gallery, however, leaves no doubt that Jim parallels the character in all it's incarnations, including the Grinch from Grinch Night and The Grinch Grinches The Cat in the Hat. Both of those are now available on DVD! See the resource page for more information.

Also, I just have to say it (being the cynical Grinch that I am). Anyone who is particularly critical of Jim as the Grinch might want to reevaluate their position. To do this in only 74 minutes, watch the live action "The Cat in the Hat" with Mike Myers. After that performance, especially compared to the book and cartoon Cat, you will probably want to give Jim Carrey an Oscar. At least Jim was obviously studied and versed in the character he was portraying. As for Myers, we haven't figured out if he thought he was playing Austin Powers, The Cowardly Lion or Robin Williams as the Genie in Aladdin!!!
