Seuss Landing Gallery - Inside the Cats Hats and Things Store This shot was taken inside the store called "Cats Hats and Things". The Cat you see in this picture is just like the ones in the ride. They look like three dimensional drawings come to life. I am beyond happy to report that the ride is NOT based on the disgraceful movie featuring Mike Myers and that there is hardly any mention or merchandise of the movie or Myers' pictures anywhere. Any official movie merchandise is based on the original, which I feel is because even the creators knew Myers wasn't going to cut it and not wanting to get stuck with tons of ugly, unwanted merchandise, they made it all based on the original book so it would sell. The only item I saw with Myers on it was a storybook from the movie. I originally feared the ride would be based on the movie, but its not (phew!) The store was fabulous. Since Thing 2 and Thing 1 are my favorite characters after the Grinch, I was in heaven in this store. Tons of merchandise of the Things. Here again, I should note that the store is very dark and the outside very bright, so I lightened the picture but its slightly grainy. Oh well, get over it.
